Perspective

Recent withdrawal of Carrefour from Japan, Korea To look at the retailing dynamics of Asia with the perspective of the player, and explore how it has shuffled its cards to play the game. What frame of reference has been/is important to the decision-makers in the management team/Board of Directors in the Carrefour Group? Some financial analytical tools may provide the clue.

Objectives

To find out the global strategies and operations of Carrefour’s Group in the period from 2000 to 2005, with focus on Japan and China; and
To find out the Carrefour’s analytical tools in its strategic operations and decision-making.
